Choosing Between Competing Buyers.

Software & Technology / Recapitalization

Michael Dongieux

Founder & CEO

MCIM received a growth investment from Resurgens Technology Partners at a premium over market multiples, closing in under 50 days — the result of a process broad enough to turn up a buyer that wasn’t on anyone’s original list, and disciplined enough to turn that interest into the strongest offer on the table.

Before Sequel

Michael Dongieux founded MCIM in 2010 to solve a problem Fortune 100 financial institutions hadn’t solved for themselves: one place to centralize, standardize, and automate how they managed critical facilities. By the time he sat down with Sequel, MCIM had grown into a full EAM, CMMS, and APM platform used by Fortune 100 and 500 companies in more than 60 countries — and needed a real decision about what came next.

In It Together

Sequel didn’t run a shortlist; it ran a real auction — 21 indications of interest, 9 management presentations, 6 competing LOIs. One of the strongest offers came from a buyer that wasn’t on the original target list at all: Resurgens Technology Partners, a software-focused private equity firm looking to enter the PropTech space, willing to pay a premium to do it right. Sequel negotiated that interest into a spike bid above where the rest of the market landed, then managed buyers, counsel, and diligence through to close in under 50 days.

“Thank you… for quarterbacking an A+ process. You studied our business and used that knowledge to find our ideal match with Resurgens Technology Partners.”

What Came Next

MCIM still operates as its own platform today, not folded into something larger — now backed by a firm whose entire strategy is built around helping software companies like it reach their next stage.
