Justin Karr joined Sequel Advisors as a Managing Director in 2024 to establish the firm’s New York presence and build its Business Services practice. He advises founders, families, management teams, and financial sponsors on mergers and acquisitions, capital-raising transactions, and exit readiness across the business services sector.

With more than 20 years of corporate finance and investment banking experience, Justin has executed transactions across the size spectrum, from closely held businesses to global brands. He has particular expertise in workforce solutions, property services, education, manufacturing, and distribution.

Justin has also experienced the transaction process as an owner-operator and as Interim CEO of a Nasdaq-listed company. This firsthand operating perspective gives him a deep understanding of the financial, strategic, and personal considerations facing business owners and informs how he guides clients through what is often the most consequential transaction of their careers.

Before joining Sequel, Justin spent his career in New York with global investment and boutiques banks including J.P. Morgan Chase, UBS, Ernst & Young and Financo (Raymond James).

Justin earned a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business Honors Program.

Justin lives in New York with his wife and two boys. When he’s not working, you’ll find him at his boys’ sporting events, fishing, cooking, exploring far-flung locales, or rooting on the Giants, Knicks and Yankees.
